Police pursued the car until the driver stopped, got out, and ran into the woods.

Police are searching for a suspect after a driver led police on a chase near Reston early Saturday morning and then fled into the woods, police say.
An officer stopped a 2018 Toyota Rav4 at around 12:43 a.m. on Jan. 19 near the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Trotting Horse Lane in the Wolf Trap area after seeing the vehicle driving off the shoulder westbound on Leesburg Pike, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
"When the officer got out of his car, the driver sped away," the report states. "The officer pursued the car until the driver suddenly stopped near the 9500 block of Brian Jac Lane [in Great Falls] and ran into the woods. After an extended search, the driver was not found."
