Reston Student Athletes, Teams Recognized By County Supervisors

Student athletes from the Reston area were recognized for their championship-level efforts during the 2023-24 winter sports season.

RESTON, VA — Students from the Reston area were recognized Tuesday morning for the athletic prowess they demonstrated during the 2023-24 winter sports season.

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors presented certificates to the following student-athletes from McLean-area schools who earned state championships:

  • South Lakes High School, Indoor Track and Field, Girls 4 X 800 Meter Relay.
  • South Lakes High School, Indoor Track and Field, Boys 4 X 400 Meter Relay.
  • Caroline Elliot, South Lakes High School, Indoor Track and Field, Girls 1600 Meter Run and Girls 1000 Meter Run.
  • Rian Graham, Herndon High School, Swim and Dive, Boys 200 Yard Freestyle and Boys 100 Yard Butterfly.

  • Jayden Loveranes, South Lakes High School, Wrestling, 144 pounds.
  • Bella Harasanyi, South Lakes High School, Indoor Track and Field, Girls 1000 Meter Run.

Earlier in the morning, the supervisors presented proclamations to South Lakes High School's girls indoor track and field and boys basketball teams, which earned championships during the 2023-24 winter sports season.
