RESTON, VA — Frances Ivey, a retired administrator with Fairfax County Public Schools, always considered being an educator as the most important job a person could have.

“I’ve always wanted to pay it forward and to help and support and do what I can for our children and for the staff that worked so hard,” she said, during an informal ceremony at the Reston Community Center at Lake Anne on Monday evening.

State Sen. Jennifer Boysko (D-Reston) and Del. Karen Keys-Gamarra presented Ivey with a resolution passed by the Virginia General Assembly commending Ivey for her dedication and hard work.
