Selena Gomez, Record Producer Boyfriend Go Public With Relationship
Singer and actress Selena Gomez recently announced on social media that she was in a relationship with Reston-native Benny Blanco.
RESTON, VA — Singing star and "No Murders in the Building" actress Selina Gomez recently made public her relationship with Benny Blanco, a record producer originally from Reston.
Gomez, 31, shared photos on her Instagram account on Dec. 7 showing her kissing Blanco, while affectionately touching his hair, according to People Magazine.
The public announcement on social media was in reaction to an earlier post by celebrity fan account PopFaction’s Instagram, according to a story in Elle. She took the opportunity to defend Blanco against comments made on Instagram critical of their relationship.

Gomez has had a working relationship with the now 35-year-old Blanco since 2015, when he produced her songs "Same Old Love" and Kill 'Em With Kindness," Elle reported.

Born Benjamin Joseph Levin in Reston in 1988, Blanco began producing hip hop instrumentals with his accompanying vocals in his bedroom. He took his stage name from the movie "Carlito's Way," according to a 2013 article in The Washington Post.
