WASHINGTON, D.C. — We've had a relatively calm week in weather — with a high of 77 on Friday! But we'll be under cloudy skies and eventually see some thunderstorms this weekend, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.
Partly cloudy skies start rolling in Friday afternoon across much of the area, but wet weather isn't expected to arrive until Sunday.
The best chance for storms will be Sunday night and into Monday morning, but forecasters at the weather service note amounts will vary widely across the region.

Tropical Storm Julia is still meandering off the Carolina coast, but isn't expected to visit our area. However, we will have noticeable wind for most of the weekend.
There's a chance for showers on Monday, but skies should clear by Monday night and the rest of the workweek is forecasted to be sunny with highs in the mid-80s.

Monday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
