- Vandals desecrated more than half of the plant boxes at Smith Park Thursday night, leaving a mess for Roanoke City Park and Rec workers Friday morning. Clean-up was underway Friday, trying to get the area back to normal after the plants had been ripped out and strewn about for no apparent reason. (WSLS 10)
- This fall Grandin Theater will be host to G.Love & Special Sauce as well as Pimps of Joytime and Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast. In addition, the venue will also host The Jared Stout Band, Palmyra and The Dead Reckoning. Tickets go on sale for this fall powerhouse line up on Monday at the theater's box office and via grandintheatre.com. (Roanoke Times)
- Today, Saturday, July 22, outside the Rescue Mission located at 402 4th St. S.E. in Roanoke from 12 to 3 p.m., the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office along with KoolKids, Sophisticated Sistas w/Style MC, The Hope Center, and The Rescue Mission will be holding a day of food, fun and resources. There will be vendors, free items for those in need, games and a DJ. All are welcome! (WSET)
