Police Log: Man 'Chest-Bumped' At Foster's Grille

The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vienna Police were called to Foster's Grille last week by a man who claimed he was chest bumped by his girlfriend's former husband.

At 2:30 p.m. June 17, the man reported that he was assaulted by being chest bumped by his girlfriends’ soon-to-be-ex-husband at , 138 Maple Ave W.

Police advised the man of the process to obtain a warrant for the assault by chest bumping.

Other highlights from the Vienna Police Log, June 15 to June 22

  • A resident reported a front windowpane to her Walker Circle house had been broken. The damage appeared to be caused by a BB pellet. Police interviewed several residents in the area and found the resident responsible for the broken window. The responsible party agreed to make the necessary repairs to the window. It appears that the incident was accidental in nature.
  • A Town of Vienna employee reported a backpack type blower had been taken from the town garage between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. June 11 at 247 Nutley Street. Police are still investigating the case.
  • A resident reported that between 1:30 p.m. June 13 and 10:23 a.m. June 19, someone stole a lawn mower a gas tank from the shed in the back of her house on Elmar Street SE. This case is still being investigated.
  • A woman reported at 1 a.m. June 15 her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her. Police responded to the location of the alleged assault on Berry Street SE and after speaking with the man, determined the assault was mutual in nature. Police told both parties how to obtain warrants for the assault and how to request a restraining order.
  • A woman reported at 11 a.m. June 15 she had moved out of her mother’s house. Her mother still possessed some of the daughters’ belongings and was refusing to return them to her. Police spoke with the mother who agreed to return the items to her daughter at a different location agreeable to both parties.
  • At 6:17 p.m. June 15, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s office requested Vienna Police assistance in locating a wanted person. Police located Devon Darrell Pelzer, 25, on Upham Place. He was arrested for failure to appear on a violation of release from an original charge of eluding and no operator’s license. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on a $1,500.00 bond.
  • A woman reported she found her deceased husband on a sofa around 10:50 p.m. June 16 on East Street. There were no signs of foul play. A detective will follow-up on the case
  • A man reported at 1:41 a.m. June 16 he left his cell phone on the bar at Jammin' Java, 227 Maple Avenue SE, while he went to the restroom. When he returned the cell phone was gone. This case is being investigated.
  • During a traffic stop at 2:05 a.m. June 16 at Lawyers Road and Sharon Lane NW, police noticed the driver showed signs of impairment. After attempting to complete several field sobriety tests, a 28-year-old man from Vienna was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was taken to Vienna Police Headquarters for analysis of his breath. The suspect would not complete the analysis. Police transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing a breath or blood test. The suspect was to be released when he was proven to be sober.
  • A citizen reported receiving several telephone calls from a blocked number between 1:36 and 7:53 p.m. June 16. The caller spoke with a heavy Hispanic accent. After threatening to report the telephone calls to the police the calls ceased. This case is being investigated.
  • A resident reported at 8:25 p.m. June 16 she was concerned with the mental state of her husband. The appropriate medical personnel were contacted and agreed to evaluate him. Family members also agreed to assist with his care.
  • During a traffic stop between 12:37 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. June 17 on Maple Avenue W, police interacted with a driver whom they thought showed signs of impairment and an odor of suspected marijuana. After attempting to complete several field sobriety tests, Eric V. Plein, 19, of Fairfax Station, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Police searched Plein prior to placing him in the police vehicle and found what appeared to be suspected marijuana. Plein was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center for an analysis of his blood for alcohol and the presence of marijuana. Plein was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.
  • During a traffic stop at 2:07 a.m. June 17 at Glyndon Street and Broadleaf Drive, police conducted a traffic stop. Upon interaction with the occupants of the vehicle police determined a juvenile passenger to be in possession of alcohol. Police provided verbal counseling to the juvenile and contacted her father to pick her up. The father responded and took his daughter home.
  • Police responded at 10:27 a.m. June 17 to the Town of Vienna Mulch site, 442 Beulah Road NE, for the report of a person lying on the ground. Upon interaction with the person police arrested Timothy John Mills, 56, of Vienna for drunk in public. A multi-speed Schwinn bicycle was also found near Mills. The bicycle was taken to Vienna Police Headquarters for safe keeping until the owner can be identified.
  • A resident reported at 5:02 p.m. June 18 daughter had come to the residence on Malcolm Road to pick up some of her personal items. The resident did not want her daughter in the house due to her agitated and erratic behavior. After speaking with police the resident agreed to allow her daughter inside to get her personal belongings, however, she was advised that she could not return to the residence.Later that night, around 6:48 p.m., the woman reported her daughter had returned and was pounding on the door. Police found Lindsey E. Hamby, 20, no fixed address, on the rear deck of the residence. When Hamby was advised she was being arrested for trespassing she attempted to run. Police were able to gain control of Ms. Hamby place her in handcuffs. She was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on a $350.00 bond.
  • A resident reported at 8:10 p.m. June 18 that while he was in the El Punto restaurant, 262 Cedar Lane SE, a Hispanic male known to him, challenged him to a fight. The resident did not want to fight and left the restaurant.
  • A complainant came to police headquarters between 1 and 2:30 p.m. June 19 to report the complainant’s adult employer might have sexually assaulted her juvenile daughter. Further investigation by PFC Vazquez determined the assault occurred in Fairfax City. The Fairfax City Police Department was notified and will be investigating the case.
  • Police responded at 3:36 p.m. June 20 to Montfort Court SW to help with a warrant issued by Fairfax County related to distribution of marijuana. Police located Michael Hilderbrand, 24, of Vienna. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on a $2,500.00 bond.
  • A resident reported between 12:32 and 2:45 a.m. June 21, she and another woman became involved in a verbal argument. The argument turned physical. After further investigation police determined Erika Hernandez, 26, of Vienna, had thrown a telephone at the victim. Hernandez was issued a summons for assault and released after signing the summons.
  • A resident reported between noon and 4:30 p.m. June 21, someone had entered her opened garage on Marshall Road and stole her daughters Schwinn mountain bike. They will attempt to locate the bicycle serial number, in the event the bicycle is found.
  • A citizen reported she and some friends were sitting outside the Chipotle Restaurant between 1 and 1:29 p.m. June 21. They soon went inside to get out of the heat and while inside they left their keys on the seat outside. When they returned one set of keys was gone.
  • A citizen reported between 3 and 3:45 p.m. June 21 someone had stolen her wallet from her purse at Whole Foods, 143 Maple Ave SE. She told police she did leave her shopping cart and purse unattended a few times while shopping. This case is being investigated. Citizens are reminded to keep purses and wallets in view at all times while shopping.
  • A citizen reported at 7:19 p.m. June 21 there was a solicitor on Ayr Hill Ave selling home remodeling services. Police located Alejandro Oliva, 21, of Springfield. He was issued a summons for soliciting without a license. After signing the summons he was released.
