VIENNA, VA — There was plenty of news Vienna Patch readers were following in 2024, from feel-good stories and sports updates to business and local government news.

Local government took the spotlight, between a new Town Council being sworn in and considerations of a temporary meals tax hike to discussions about maintaining crossing guard coverage in town. Library renovations are nearing as the town and county advanced approvals and a new name for the library. Casino opposition remains one of the town's legislative requests on the state level.
