Vienna Man Pleads Guilty to Child Abuse in Infant Death

A Vienna man after the death of his two-month-old daughter pleaded guilty Tuesday in Fairfax County Circuit Court.

Fairfax County police officers responded to a call Dec. 10 for CPR in progress on the girl in the 7500 block of Parkwood Court in the Falls Church. Fairfax County EMS transported the girl to a local hospital.

Francis Reed, 22, of Vienna, was arrested two days later and charged with child abuse before being taken into custody. Later that day, the two-month-old, Amber Reed, died.

It is unclear where the infant resided.

More information about the incident was not available Wednesday; court records were with the judge on the case, court officials said.

Virginia law allows up to 10 years in prison and fines up to $100,000 for the offense.
