Wellness Wonderland Expo With Vendors, Activities Coming To Vienna

The returning expo will feature about 50 health and wellness vendors, a keynote speech and family activities.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna residents can get a jump on health and wellness-related resolutions with the returning wellness expo hosted by the Vienna Business Association.

The Wellness Wonderland: Renew, Recharge, Share the Gift of Wellness will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St SE, Vienna, VA. Attendees will find 50 local health, wellness, and fitness exhibitors presentations from experts and family activities. The event is free to attend.

"This year’s Get Health Vienna Expo embodies the spirit of sharing the gift of wellness," said Peggy James, Vienna Business Association's executive director. "Whether you're looking to renew your commitment to health, recharge your energy, or simply explore what our local wellness community has to offer, ‘Wellness Wonderland’ has something for everyone."

Amy Riolo, an award-winning author, chef, and Mediterranean Lifestyle Ambassador, will give the keynote speech on different facets of strengthening overall health and wellness.

"This year’s expo – ‘Wellness Wonderland’ – promises to be informative and enlightening, especially the slate of experts who will address important topics on reducing stress, a key driver of illness and chronic disease," said Karen Kerrigan, a Vienna Business Association member and chairman of Wellness Wonderland. "The VBA is very excited to welcome Amy Riolo to the lineup whose knowledge and warm personality will help attendees learn strategies to adopt a healthy mentality around stress and ways to boost health."

Riolo's presentation will begin at 12 p.m., and she will sign books, answer questions and chat with attendees throughout the event. She has written 22 books, including most recently "Managing Cholesterol for Dummies." Her other books include cookbooks like "Quick and Easy Mediterranean Recipes" and "Creating a Cookbook: How to Write, Publish and Promote Your Culinary Philosophy" as well as guides to diabetes-friendly meals, desserts, and meal planning and nutrition.

"I love teaching others how to use the world’s healthiest diet to live better and longer," said Riolo.
"After living and working all over the Mediterranean region, I’ve witnessed firsthand how the Mediterranean lifestyle can transform lives."

Other local expert presentations will include:

  • Healthy Through The Holidays! by Nicole Woo Seevers, certified health, wellness and life coach, and owner of Wellness Fast
  • From Stressed to Strong: The Surprising Ways Stress Affects Your Body and How to Fight Back by Dr. Teresa McFarland, owner of AcuPoint Wellness Clinic
  • Allergies Unmasked: How to Identify Triggers and Find Relief by Dr. Karen Kaufman, owner of Kaufman Allergy Asthma and Immunology, PLLC

Along with the presentations, families will enjoy an appearance from the Vienna Princesses and other activities designed for children.
