Alexandria Police Reports: Drug Thefts at Open Houses

Note: The addresses listed below indicates blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Alexandria police are investigating two cases in which prescription drugs were stolen from homes during open house sales on Alexandria’s West End.

The first incident was reported at 7:59 a.m. March 19 in the 4600 block of Strathblane Place. The second was reported at 6:27 p.m. March 21 in the 400 block of Cameron Station Boulevard.

The following crimes were reported in separate and unrelated incidents:

March 19

• 12:43 p.m. March 19, 2400 block of Menokin Drive, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Victims reported their St. Patrick's day sign was damaged.
• 1:35 p.m. March 19, 4800 block of Kenmore Avenue, motor vehicle theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his vehicle from the privately owned lot at his residence.
• 4:48 p.m. March 19, 5800 block of Quantrell Avenue, larceny, pending.
• 6:08 p.m. March 19, 100 block of South Bragg Street, trespass of real property, pending. Trespassing on property after having been previously barred.
• 9:18 a.m. March 19, 5400 block of Duke Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Unknown suspect/s smashed the front window of the establishment at this location, but no entry was made and nothing was taken.
• 10:01 a.m. March 19, 4600 block of Duke Street, larceny, open.
• 10:01 a.m. March 19, 4600 block of Duke Street, fraud, open. Victim reported granddaughter suspected of fraudulently using her credit card on numerous occasions.
• 10:22 p.m. March 19, 500 block of North Armistead Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s smashed the windshield on her vehicle.
• 4:50 p.m. March 19, 400 block of North Armistead Street, fraud, pending. Victim reported that his or her identity has been stolen and used for fraudulent activity.

March 20

• 12:51 p.m. March 20, 3200 block of South 28th Street, assault, larceny, pending. Victim was assaulted by boyfriend by pulling her hair and punching her while taking her cell phone.
• 7:23 p.m. March 20, 5000 block of Seminary Road, trespass of real property, arrest. Trespassing on property after having been previously barred.
• 8:31 p.m. March 20, 4900 block of Seminary Road, assault, arrest.
• 2:59 p.m. March 20, 5400 block of North Morgan Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, larceny, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s smashed the driver's side door window and entered his vehicle stealing a GPS and CDs from the console.
• 10:23 p.m. March 20, 3600 block of Wheeler Avenue, assault, arrest. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.

March 21

• 1:35 a.m. March 21, 5400 block of North Morgan Street, drug offenses, arrest. Suspect was charged with possession of marijuana.
• 10:51 p.m. March 21, 200 block of North Breckinridge Place, larceny, open.
• 1:34 a.m. March 21, 100 block of South Bragg Street, trespass of real property, open. Trespassing on property after having been previously barred.
• 10:02 p.m. March 21, 500 block of South Van Dorn Street, larceny, pending.
• 5:56 p.m. March 21, 300 block of South Reynolds Street, fraud, open. Victim reported that his or her identity has been stolen and used for fraudulent activity.
• 1:55 p.m. March 21, 600 block of South Pickett Street, larceny, pending.
• 12:26 p.m. March 21, 4600 block of Duke Street, motor vehicle theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his vehicle from the parking lot at this location.

March 22

• 10:02 p.m. March 22, 4800 block of West Braddock Road, assault, arrest. Assault occurred between two people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 12:12 p.m. March 22, 200 block of Yoakum Parkway, fraud, pending. Victim reported that their identity has been stolen and used for fraudulent activity.
• 7:46 a.m. March 22, 300 block of South Whiting Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Unknown suspect/s threw a rock through the driver's side door window of victim's vehicle.
• 9:41 p.m. March 22, 400 block of South Whiting Street, fraud, open.
• 9:08 a.m. March 22, 300 block of South Reynolds Street, larceny, open.
• 7:49 p.m. March 22, 800 block of South Pickett Street, assault, pending.

March 23

• 1:18 a.m. March 23, 5500 block of Ascot Court, larceny, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, open.
• 9:10 p.m. March 23, Fairbanks Road and Seminary Road, fraud, arrest. Victim reported that his or her identity has been stolen and used for fraudulent activity.
• 7:10 a.m. March 23, 5800 block of Quantrell Avenue, larceny, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, open. Victim reported her boyfriend was destroying her property in her apartment at this location.

March 24

• 6:59 p.m. March 24, 2800 block of Park Center Drive, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, open.
• 10:52 p.m. March 24, 900 block of North Van Dorn Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.
• 5:49 p.m. March 24, 5800 block of Quantrell Avenue, assault, open. Assault occurred between two people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 2:33 a.m. March 24, 6100 block of Lincolnia Road, larceny, open. Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
• 5:03 p.m. March 24, 400 block of South Whiting Street, assault, pending.
• 12:29 a.m. March 24, 300 block of South Van Dorn Street, assault, arrest. Assault occurred between two people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 12:14 p.m. March 24, 200 block of Bluestone Road, larceny, open. Unknown suspect/s stole a TV from a room in the hotel at this location.

March 25

• 12:46 a.m. March 25, 2500 block of North Van Dorn Street, motor vehicle theft, open. Victim reported his motor scooter was stolen from the apartment's parking lot.
