On January 25, 2022, a 32-year-old Alexandrian, Steven Orellana, was
convicted of rape by a jury in the Circuit Court for the City of Alexandria. The
evidence established that, in 2019, the defendant forced a coworker whom he had
been dating to engage in a sexual act against her will, inside of his Alexandria
apartment. The case was investigated by Detective Brad Cecchetti of the
Alexandria Police Department and prosecuted by Deputy Commonwealth’s
Attorney David Lord.
