Man Charged With Murder Of Alexandria Woman: Police
A suspect has been charged with second degree murder in connection with a Dec. 7 homicide on S. Van Dorn Street.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — On Tuesday, Alexandria Police announced an arrest in the Dec. 7 homicide of an Alexandria woman in the West End.
David Cunningham, 40, of Alexandria, was charged with second degree murder and is being held without bond.
The incident remains under investigation by detectives. On Dec. 7, police responded to the unit block of South Van Dorn Street and found the victim dead in her apartment. The next day, the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.

The victim was identified as Melia Jones, 23, of Alexandria.
