Owl Outing, Film Screening, Run for Shelter, and More Events this Week

The week ahead: 

Go on an Owl Outing from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at Huntley Meadows Park on 3701 Lockheed Blvd. in the Hybla Valley area. The cost is $6. Register online. 

Friday is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Commemorate the anniversary with a film screening at the Beatley Central Library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  

The Run for Shelter 10K, 5K and Fun Run to benefit the Carpenter's Shelter takes place at 8 a.m. Saturday starting at Eisenhower Ave. Register online.

If you still need gift, the Pohick Church is hosting their Christmas Mart at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Pohick Church on 9301 Richmond Highway in Lorton.
