ALIVE! — Last Saturday Food Distribution Volunteers

Volunteers are needed from 8:30 am - Noon to help bag and distribute nonperishable food and fresh produce to low-income families at one of three locations in Alexandria: Cora Kelly Recreational Center, 25 West Reed Avenue; Ladrey Senior Residence, 300 Wythe Street; and Church of the Resurrection, 2280 N. Volunteers may read to children, play a musical instrument, plan a special activity with help from the teacher, and perform other activities. Monday – Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., during the school year. Friendly Visitor Program through Senior Services of Alexandria — Delivery Volunteers and Teams

Islamic Relief USA — Data Entry Volunteer

T.C. Williams International Network — In Classroom Tutors

Volunteers are needed to assist students/language learners during their classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to become proficient in English with the subject matter. Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program — Insurance Volunteers
Volunteer counselors needed to help Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers in Alexandria and Arlington answer questions and solve problems related to Medicare and other insurance related issues. Volunteer Alexandria — Community Service Day Coordinators and Fundraisers Needed

Community Service Day involves hundreds of volunteers who will join together on Friday, May 3 to provide community services at dozens of nonprofits throughout the city. Volunteers are needed to help us secure donations from stores, restaurants, etc., to give out as prizes. Site coordinators are needed to assist with project development and overseeing 3-5 sites the day of the event. Contact: mail@volunteeralexandria.org.
