Woman's Death Investigated As Homicide In Alexandria

A woman was found dead Tuesday in her apartment, and the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead in Alexandria Tuesday.

Police responded to a call for service around 2:40 p.m. in the unit block of South Van Dorn Street. Officers found a 23-year-old woman dead in her apartment. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death a homicide Wednesday. Information on the manner of death was not released.

The victim's name is being withheld at the request of the family.
