28 Displaced in Whitmer Drive Apartment Fire
A fire at a Whitmer Drive apartment complex Wednesday night displaced 28 and caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Fire and rescue units responded to reports of a structure fire in a multi-family apartment complex that displaced 28 residents at Whitmer Drive in Woodbridge Wednesday night.
Firefighters observed smoke coming from one of the third floor apartment units around 7:30 p.m. at the 4300 block of Whitmer Drive in Woodbridge. The tenant of the complex said he was greeted by smoke upon entering his home.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and found no extension of the fire. One apartment sustained heavy fire damage and the remaining nine apartments sustained water damage. Preliminary damages are estimated at $100,000, according to the Fire Marshal’s office.
No injuries were reported.
