Bye for Now, Woodbridge Patch

Woodbridge Patch editor moves on to a new Patch job.

It has been a fantastic two years covering news, community information and events for my hometown of Woodbridge.

We’ve done some great things over the years that I am extremely proud of. This month, Lake Ridge-Occoquan Patch editor Rachel Leon and I took home awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for our coverage on flood-related items in September 2011.

Woodbridge Patch will turn two years old in August (and I’ll still be around) but some things will be changing in the Prince William County world of Patch.

Although I was at the helm of the coverage, I will no longer be the day-to-day editor of Woodbridge Patch. I’m staying with the Patch family and will probably still end up covering some news in Woodbridge, Dale City, Lake Ridge and Manassas, along with Fredericksburg, as the region’s Associate Regional Editor.

Starting Monday, Rachel Leon will be taking over the Woodbridge site. She’s been here right with me covering the stories in Prince William County, so she’ll fit right in.

I hope you’ll still turn to Woodbridge Patch for your source of news and information and continue to send Rachel and me tips for stories.

It’s been my pleasure to cover my hometown and I hope to see you sometime in the future at a board of county supervisors meeting or community event.

My contact information will remain the same, so if you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me at laurenj@patch.com.
