WOODBRIDGE, VA — Ahead of Thanksgiving, Virginia delegates and the operator of a gaming resort will distribute 750 turkeys in Woodbridge.
The Rose Gaming Resort and parent company Churchill Downs Incorporated will join the Thanksgiving turkey giveaway Saturday with Dels. Luke Torian, Candi Mundon King and Briana Sewell. About 750 turkeys will be available for free to Prince William County residents starting at 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Gar-Field High School (14000 Smoketown Road, Woodbridge, VA).
The turkeys will be distributed first come, first served. The distribution will work as a drive-thru. There will be a limit of two turkeys per family.

“Prince William County, and the Town of Dumfries in particular, have really embraced The Rose and made us feel so welcomed and supported during our first year of operation,” said Aaron Palmer, director of Virginia government relations for Churchill Downs Incorporated. “This turkey giveaway and our philanthropic efforts throughout the year are part of our commitment to remaining engaged and productive partners in the communities, like Dumfries and Prince William, where our team members live and work.”
The company says the turkey distribution is part of its Rosie’s Gives Back program that has provided over $5.4 million in direct donations and in-kind contributions and thousands volunteer service hours. The Rose Gaming Resort opened in November 2024 in the Town of Dumfries. Churchill Downs, which is known for hosting the Kentucky Derby, has other Rosie's Gaming Emporium locations around Virginia along with its Dumfries gaming resort.
