• Sex Trafficking Victim Found At Woodbridge Hotel, Suspect Arrested (patch.com) — Police say a woman who was being sex trafficked was located at the Springhill Suites on Crossing Place in Woodbridge on Dec. 2, prompting a broader investigation. Authorities identified a suspect from Hampton and report he was later arrested in Hampton by a U.S. Marshals task force on multiple trafficking-related charges.
   

• Some parents, teachers still oppose elementary school districting plan (princewilliamtimes.com) — Parents and teachers from several eastern Prince William schools, including Woodbridge’s Mary Williams Elementary, are pushing back against a two-year redistricting plan tied to a new “Woodbridge-area” elementary school. The proposal could close Potomac View Elementary, shift multiple neighborhoods, and will go to the school board for a final vote in January.
   

• Brentsville girls win in OT to stay unbeaten; Dec. 16 hoops roundup (insidenova.com) — Woodbridge High’s girls basketball team rolled past Forest Park behind a 21-point night from Zoey Coffer, while Freedom-Woodbridge’s boys fell in a high-scoring matchup with Stafford. The countywide roundup also highlights big wins for Brentsville, Gainesville, Potomac and Patriot, giving local hoops fans a snapshot of early-season form.
