DUMFRIES, VA—A felon wanted for a variety of gun-related offenses, including an assault last month in Dumfries, was arrested Wednesday after turning himself in, according to Prince William County Police. Jesse Lee Lotharp, 37, of 800 Southern Avenue SE in Washington, DC, was charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 18, police went to a home in the 17300 block of Mine Road for a reported assault. They found that the victim, a 31-year-old man, had been arguing with a 38-year-old woman. Lotharp—who knows the woman—was told about the argument and went to the home, where he was let in by another resident.

He then kicked in the victim's bedroom door, threatened him with a gun and the pistol-whipped him before fleeing in his vehicle. Minor injuries were reported.
