Fugitive Arrested For Seat Belt Assault In Dumfries: Police
A wanted man was arrested for strangling a woman with a seat belt Nov. 25 at a home in Dumfries, according to Prince William County Police.
DUMFRIES, VA—A wanted man was arrested Tuesday for strangling a woman with a seat belt Nov. 25 at a home in the 1900 block of Fort Monroe Court, according to Prince William County Police. Michael Jermaine Moore, 46, of the aforementioned area, was charged with strangulation and abduction.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on the day in question, police began investigating the incident said to have occurred in a vehicle outside a residence at the aforementioned address. They found that a 31-year-old woman and Moore were involved in an argument that escalated. He grabbed her car keys, her phone and then began to choke her with the seat belt.
They eventually separated, after which the woman was able to contact police. Minor injuries were reported. Efforts to detain him had been unsuccessful until Tuesday.
