Good Samaritan's Gesture Backfires In Woodbridge: Police
A 70-year-old woman trying to help a stranger in distress instead wound up in the middle of a bizarre situation in Woodbridge: PWC Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A 70-year-old woman trying to help a stranger in distress instead wound up in the middle of a bizarre situation Sunday afternoon, June 30, at her home in the 11500 block of Nellings Place, according to Prince William County Police. Fortunately for her, she emerged from the episode unscathed, unlike her home.
Around 1:30 p.m., police responded to the woman's home and found that an unknown man had approached her and said someone was trying to harm him. Concerned for his welfare, she allowed him inside her residence to contact police. Once there, though, he began making inconsistent statements and acting paranoid, so the woman contacted police.
When police arrived and tried to detain him, the man became disorderly and resisted. A struggle ensued, during which he bit and assaulted multiple officers and rescue personnel while also damaging property inside the home. He ultimately was secured and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
