Hit-And-Run With State Trooper Vehicle Leads To Charges For Woodbridge Driver
A driver is facing charges in relation to a pursuit from Stafford to Prince William County ending in the hit-and-run.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge driver has been charged in a hit-and-run that started as a pursuit from Stafford to Prince William County.
The pursuit started around 6:04 p.m. on Oct. 6. Virginia State Police say a state trooper was trying to stop the driver of a red Kia Forte on northbound Interstate 95 in Stafford County for reckless driving. The driver did not stop, leading to a pursuit continuing into Prince William County.
State police said the driver exited I-95, leading the pursuit to Cardinal Drive. The driver attempted a u-turn at Andover Heights and struck a Virginia State Police vehicle, leaving the state police vehicle disabled. The state trooper was not injured.

State police had been seeking the involved vehicle since October. Kevin Lopez Martinez, 21, of Woodbridge, was charged with felony hit and run, obstruction, false reporting of a crime, eluding, failure to stop at an accident, reckless driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and operating an uninsured vehicle.
