Lidl Reschedules Grand Opening For New Store In Woodbridge
Lidl, a German discount grocery store chain that expanded to the U.S., will open a new location in Woodbridge.

UPDATE: Lidl has rescheduled its grand opening of the store to Oct. 22.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A new grocery store known for its discount prices will be the newest addition to Woodbridge.
Lidl US, the American subsidiary of the German grocery store chain, announced the store at the Smoketown Station Shopping Center (2904 Prince William Parkway, Woodbridge, VA) will open on Oct. 22. A ribbon cutting ceremony will start at 7:40 a.m. before the store opens at 8 a.m.

Lidl offers a selection of private label items, global imports and name brands. Among its specials are weekly deals starting on Wednesdays, Weekend Super Sales from Friday to Sunday, and Monday Must-Haves on its rotating retail items and limited-food items. The MyLidl app offers more savings, including a welcome coupon and Super Shopper rewards program.
The grocery store is also known for its selection of freshly-baked breads and pastries. Selections include 49-cent butter croissants from Europe and baked in stores. Lidl's new Special Guest bakery program offers one new baked good per month with a focus on seasonal trends. The Woodbridge opening will bring the pumpkin muffin and corn muffin as specials.

Lidl has opened 12,000 stores in 31 countries. Its first U.S. stores opened in 2017, two years after the Lidl US headquarters opened in Arlington, Virginia. There is another Woodbridge location at 2070 Tacketts Village Square.
