Man's Shooting Into Woodbridge Home Targeted Woman: Police (patch.com) — Residents of the Commons on Williams Square Condominiums in Woodbridge learned more about a late-November shooting after police linked it to threatening texts sent to a woman inside the targeted home. Officers arrested a 26-year-old Woodbridge man at his residence and charged him with multiple firearm, stalking, property destruction, and written threats offenses, noting that no one was injured when a single bullet struck the dwelling.
   

2. Crisis Receiving Center Serves Hundreds Of Adults Since Opening In Prince William Co. (patch.com) — People in Woodbridge now have a 24/7 Crisis Receiving Center on Worth Avenue that has already served 167 adults in just over a month, sharply reducing out-of-area psychiatric placements. County leaders say the Woodbridge facility, which now also serves youth by referral, offers a local alternative to emergency rooms and distant hospitals by providing short-term observation, crisis beds, and co-located outpatient services.
   

3. Franklin Chosen As Democratic Nominee In House District 23 Caucus (patch.com) — Woodbridge District Supervisor Margaret Angela Franklin has secured the Democratic nomination for the 23rd House of Delegates District, positioning a prominent Woodbridge leader for the upcoming special election. Local voters in Prince William and Stafford counties, including communities near Woodbridge, are given detailed early voting dates, locations, and mail-in deadlines ahead of the January 13, 2026 contest.
   

4. Belmont Bay residents say new homes would be too close to wildlife refuge (princewilliamtimes.com) — Hundreds of new townhomes are one step closer to being built in Woodbridge’s Belmont Bay community, some just 50 feet from Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Residents worry about wildlife, runoff, and traffic, while the county planning commission narrowly recommended approval and passed the final decision to the Board of County Supervisors.
   

5. Teen Hauled In After Hateful Graffiti Found Sprayed Across Virginia Park, Police Say (dailyvoice.com) — Police say a 17-year-old from Woodbridge has been arrested in connection with hateful graffiti that caused more than $5,000 in damage at Andrew Leitch Park on Dale Boulevard. Officers responded after homophobic and antisemitic markings were found across multiple areas of the Woodbridge park, and the teen is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center while the investigation continues.
