Lindendale Road Fire Causes $50,000 in Damage

A structure fire on Lindendale Road in Woodbridge Monday displaced five and caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.

Fire and rescue units responded to a structure fire in a single family home Monday at the 13800 block of Lindendale Road in Woodbridge around 5 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke visible in the front of the home. Firefighters entered the home and discovered a fire in the basement that extended to the stairs. Firefighters proceeded to extinguish the fire and found no further extension.

Red Cross was called to the scene to assist 3 adults and 2 children displaced by the fire. No injuries were reported.

Preliminary damages to the home are estimated at $50,000, according to the Fire Marshall’s Office.

Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue would like to remind residents to install smoke alarms on every level of their homes, including the basement. Test smoke detectors monthly and replace batteries as needed. Smoke detectors need to be replaced approximately every 10 years.
