Powerball Ticket Bought In Woodbridge Wins $50K (patch.com) — A Powerball ticket sold at Smoketown Shell on Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge has won a $50,000 prize, one of five such winners in Virginia from Wednesday’s drawing. While the massive $1.5 billion jackpot remains unclaimed, local residents are reminded of the long odds and multiple ways to play through Virginia Lottery retailers and online.
   

2. Homelessness Center, Fire Station Construction Contracts Approved By PW County Board (patch.com) — Prince William County supervisors have approved major construction contracts for a new Homeless Navigation Center on Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge and a new fire and rescue station on Spriggs Road. The Woodbridge facility will replace the Bill Mehr Drop-In Center and expand shelter and services for up to 50 adults, while the new station will enhance 24-hour emergency response by 2027.
   

3. Man's Shooting Into Woodbridge Home Targeted Woman: Police (patch.com) — Police say a woman inside a Woodbridge condominium was targeted after receiving threatening texts, when a gunshot struck her home in late November. A 26-year-old Woodbridge man was later arrested at his residence and faces multiple firearm, stalking, property destruction, and written threats charges. No injuries were reported, but the case underscores ongoing safety concerns in the community.
   

4. Planning Commission Approves Four Developments In Last 2025 Meeting (potomaclocal.com) — Prince William County’s Planning Commission has approved four new housing developments, including the Chinn Landing townhouse project in Woodbridge. The Woodbridge rezoning will allow up to 47 townhomes near Minnieville Road, while residents countywide raised concerns about traffic, connectivity, and infrastructure as more homes are added in Dumfries, Gainesville, and Dale City.
   

5. Woodbridge Man Slashed While Fixing Fence, Fires Back As Masked Attacker Flees: Police (dailyvoice.com) — A Woodbridge resident was slashed while fixing a fence on Hemingway Drive Wednesday night, then fired two shots as the masked attacker fled, according to Prince William County Police. The victim’s arm injury was non-life-threatening, but the suspect is still at large. Police say the attack does not appear random and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
