WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man was arrested Saturday, April 27, after intentionally running down a pedestrian with his vehicle and then fleeing in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Rippon Boulevard, according to Prince William County Police. Wayne Donnell Brown, of the 1200 block of Potomac Vista Drive in Woodbridge, was charged with malicious wounding and hit and run.
Around 5:15 a.m., police responded to the scene for a reported crash. A 33-year-old man said he was riding in a vehicle with an acquaintance—Brown— when they became involved in an argument that escalated. The man finally got out of the vehicle and began walking east on Rippon Boulevard.
Brown then made a U-turn on Rippon Boulevard and began driving toward the man before hitting him near the intersection of Rippon Boulevard and Jefferson Davis Highway and then fleeing. After the man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Brown was located, arrested and taken to jail, where he was held without bond.
