Missing Man Found Dead In Woodbridge Creek: Police

Prince William County Police said a man reported missing was found dead two days later in a creek.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A missing man was found dead in a Woodbridge creek Saturday, according to Prince William County Police.

The 34-year-old man was reported missing after not showing up to work since Sept. 22 and his dog being found unattended at home on Sept. 25. Police had believed the man was voluntarily missing.

On Saturday morning, officers responded to a death investigation at Powells Creek near the 2600 block of Dyers Mill Court in Woodbridge. An investigation lead took officers to the area, where they located the man's body in the creek. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police withheld the man's identity in the latest report.

Police did not find any preliminary signs of foul play and do not believe there is a threat to the public. The body was taken to the medical examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Police will release more information about the death investigation as needed.
