Police: Stranger Struck Man in the Face

Prince William County Police are looking for the man, who fled on foot after assaulting the victim.

A pedestrian sustained a "significant injury" to his face after an unknown man struck him on Jefferson Davis Highway on Sunday evening, Prince William County Police said. 

The 31-year-old victim was walking on the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway when the unknown man approached him, then struck him. After the suspect fled on foot, the victim chased after him. He was unable to catch up, though. 

The suspect was last seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the area. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police are looking for a white male between 40-50 years old, 5'6", with a thin build. No further description was available.
