Shooting Of Woman Under Investigation In Woodbridge: Police

Prince William County Police noted inconsistencies in the report of a woman shot in Woodbridge Tuesday.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County Police are investigating a report of a woman shot in the Potomac Mills area Tuesday.

Around 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a shooting that was reported to have happened in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle earlier that evening. Police were told the 28-year-old woman was shot while with a male acquaintance and went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police were notified when the woman and acquaintance arrived at the hospital.

Police say there was no evidence of shooting at the reported location in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle. The shooting is believed to not be random, and police believe there were "inconsistencies" about the "events leading to the injuries."
