Weather Shift Brings New Showers, Storms To VA Forecast: See Timeline
The National Weather Service expects two days with rain before sunny conditions return in Northern Virginia.
VIRGINIA — Showers and scattered storms are in the forecast for Northern Virginia before sunnier days return.
The National Weather Service's Baltimore-Washington office expects showers and scattered thunderstorms in the region on Wednesday. As a weak cold front gives way to sunny conditions and warmer temperatures on Thursday, forecasters say a stronger cold front brings the chance of showers again Friday.
The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang expects clouds, midday showers and a possible "thundershower" on Wednesday, with more chances in the evening. Additional showers are predicted late Friday into the weekend.

No weather warnings, watches or advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service for the Northern Virginia region in the next few days. Isolated storms already affected the region on Monday, bringing reports of sizable hail in some areas.
Dreary weather will give way to sun in time for the weekend. Highs will remain in the 70s in the next two days, with lows transitioning from the 60s Wednesday to 50s Thursday and Friday. Friday comes with chances of rain and high temperatures approaching the 70s. Sunny conditions are expected this weekend, with a high of 70 Saturday and low 60s Sunday.

Friday: A chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. At night, a chance of showers before 2 a.m. and mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent at night.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. At night, partly cloudy, with a low around 45.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 62. At night, mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.
