Weekend Rain Set To Drench NoVA: See Latest Timing, Forecast
Northern Virginia residents will enjoy a couple of mild days before rains and a risk of flooding arrive this weekend.
VIRGINIA — After a couple rounds of rain and dreary conditions this week, Northern Virginia residents will enjoy a couple of mild days Thursday and Friday before a weekend soaker takes aim at the state.
Conditions will be dry and mild heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service's latest forecast. Temperatures are expected to reach the low 60s on Thursday before dipping slightly into the mid-50s on Friday.
Conditions will likely change Saturday as rain moves into the area and persists into the evening, forecasters said. Most of Northern Virginia is expected to see half-inch to one inch of rainfall, according to the NWS.

The amount of rain expected would not normally cause flooding concerns, but forecasters said the already wet ground from previous rains will increase the potential for minor flooding on rivers and streams.
According to the Capital Weather Gang's latest forecast, windy conditions will replace clouds and rain on Sunday morning.
"Robbed of an hour of sleep you are allowed not to be pleased with the blustery north winds making the low 50s feel more like the low 40s for highs," the Capital Weather Gang said. "It remains windy overnight (Sunday) with lows ranging through the 30s."
Looking ahead, Virginians can likely look forward to dry conditions, lighter winds and "well-above normal" temperatures next week, forecasters said.
