• Target Zero: Honoring law enforcement's battle against impaired driving at Night of 1000 Stars (clarkcountytoday.com) — Battle Ground’s police chief and officers took center stage as the city’s department hosted the regional Night of 1000 Stars impaired-driving enforcement awards at Mannahouse Church in east Vancouver. Local officers were honored alongside Washington State Patrol, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and nearby city departments for pulling hundreds of impaired drivers off the road and advancing Target Zero’s goal of eliminating traffic deaths by 2030.
   

• For religion and tradition, man takes to flooded Southwest Washington river seeking benefits of cold water immersion (chronline.com) — A new Battle Ground resident, Shane Black, continues his spiritual practice of cold water immersion by plunging into the flooded East Fork Lewis River at Daybreak Regional Park. The Navajo Nation member and self-described newborn Christian says the icy water helps him reflect on faith and emotions, and he praises the hospitality he’s found in Battle Ground churches and at his local job.
