Bellevue Events Help Collect Food for Hungry Eastside Families

The Bellevue-based Renewal Food Bank is holding a number of events in Bellevue this month, including some this week, to help the hungry on the Eastside.

"Due in great part to the staggering economy, high unemployment rate and cut back of government programs, the need for services provided by World Impact Network’s Bellevue-based Renewal Food Bank are expected to be at an all-time high this summer," the food bank stated in a press release.

To help ensure Renewal Food Bank is continually stocked for the hundreds of families served each week, local businesses and organizations are joining in to take part in the Eastside Year Round Sustainable Food and Fund Drive.

A few events happening this month to benefit WIN’s Renewal Food Bank include:

June 1 - Eastside Women in Business Monthly Luncheon

McCormick & Schmick’s, 700 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue  12:30 – 2:30pm
EWIB will be collecting non-perishable food items for the food bank

June 1-3 Renewal Food Bank FUNdraiser at California Pizza Kitchen in Bellevue.

CPK will donate 20% of all bills of diners with the special flyer (available at www.worldimpactnetwork.org).  Readers are encouraged to print the flyer and/or share it with friends and family.

June 23 – Real Estate Association of Puget Sound (REAPS)

REAPS will be collecting food at their annual membership drive meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in Bellevue.

June – August – Woodinville Weekly is collecting food for Renewal Food Bank during the entire summer! 

There is a desperate need for other leading Eastside businesses and organizations to step up and adopt a month to give back to our local community by helping Renewal Food Bank.  Help during the coming summer months is especially crucial and appreciated.  To participate send an email to Joe@RenewalFoodBank.org.
