Bellevue Woman Killed by Hit and Run Identified

Marina Kristalisnskaia, 77, was a retired engineer originally from St. Petersburg, Russia. A 49-year-old Bellevue man was arrested in connection with the crash.

A Bellevue woman struck and killed by a car Friday night was identified as Marina Kristalinskaia by her family, according to an article by the Seattle Times.

investigators arrested a 49-year-old Bellevue man Saturday morning in connection with Kristalisnskaia's Friday while trying to cross Northeast Eighth Street.

Bellevue police say after a neighbor grew suspicious after passing the suspect's home on his morning walk and seeing a vehicle matching the description in news reports about the accident. The owner of the car came out of his home as police were investigating and immediately confessed to Friday night’s collision, according to police. He told them he was scared and drove off after striking the pedestrian, according to police.
