Five Things You Need to Know This Weekend

What do you need to know this weekend? Here are five things from Bellevue Patch:

1) The  will host Zumba for Japan, a fundraiser for Peace Winds America, a Seattle organization raising money for Japanese disaster relief organizations. What's Zumba? Check out for a video by Patch editors Brent Champaco and Akiko Oda. Suggested donation of $20 per person at the door.

2) The will showcase from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the . The event features chocolate, coffee and wine testing. And there will be a Fitness Stage featuring Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Belly Dancing, Kickboxing and Strength training. $10 at the door.

3)  Volunteers are needed For Eastside Domestic Violence Program 2011 World of Hope Dinner & Auction, which will be May 13 at Meydenbauer Center. The event raises money for the organization which provides domestic violence services and programs to the community. Volunteers are needed for everything from setting up, to being part of the stage crew and security patrol, to running the raffle and auction to cleaning up.  Or contact the program at 425-562-8840 x 333.

4) Do you have your tickets to the ? Festival headliners will perform June 1-5 at the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue. The lineup features Charles Lloyd, Zakir Hussain, Regina Carter, Chris Potter, Tierney Sutton, Michael Formanek, Luis Perdomo and the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra. Tickets are available at bellevuejazz.com. 

5) Have you registered for Bellevue’s annual 10k/5k run? The event is organized by the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club. This event, which takes place on April 17, was created to raise money for the Seattle Children’s Autism Center and Kindering, along with multiple other Rotary projects.  Registration for adults is $30 through April 15, then $35 to the day of the event. Registration for kids is $10.
