Ivar's Restaurants To Celebrate Namesake's Birthday with $1.06 Meals, Cake

To celebrate, customers who purchase a regular entree and say, "Happy Birthday, Ivar," can purchase an additional entree of equal or lesser value for $1.06. Customers who get there early also might have a chance to get a piece of cake, according to Ivar's restaurants.
Ivar's Seafood Bar has a location in Bellevue, at 1505 156th Ave. N.E., in the Crossroads neighborhood.

And the icing on the cake? We're offering select desserts for only 106 cents at Ivar's Acres of Clams, Ivar's Salmon House and Ivar's Mukilteo Landing. And, Ivar's Seafood Bars will be offering free birthday cake to the first 106 guests at freestanding locations.
According to HistoryLink.org, Ivar Haglund was a native Seattlite, who was a folksinger and entrepreneur. Haglund opened Seattle's first aquarium and a fish and chip shop in the 1930s. He died in 1985.
