Sammamish Lacrosse Defeats Gig Harbor Friday
Sammamish downs Gig Harbor for seventh lacrosse win

GIG HARBOR – Tyler Schmidt scored 5 goals to lead Evergreen leading Sammamish to a 19 – 1 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Gig Harbor, Friday at Gig Harbor High School.
Sammamish doubled-up on a 2 – 0 first quarter lead to take a 4 – 0 advantage into the intermission. In the second half, Sammamish again put up big numbers, netting 6 in the third and 7 in the fourth to seal the win. Sean Sternberg contributed 2 goals and 7 ground balls in Sammamish’s 7th win of the season. The Fire’s only goal came on a solo shot by Nate Ashton in the third. With the loss, Gig Harbor evened its record at 3-3-0.
Sammamish (7-1-0) next faces Skagit Valley (1-2-0), Tuesday, April 5 in a 7 p.m. start at Newport High School. Gig Harbor (3-3-0) faces North Kitsap (1-1-0) on Friday, April 8 in a 6 p.m. start at North Kitsap High School.
