While Charge Northwest, the Woodinville-based company that distributes the ChargePoint brand charging stations, has nearly 100 electric vehicle charging stations throughout Washington, most car owners will charge overnight at home. The ability to plug a car in is now a feature of homes and in multi-unit dwellings, such as One Main Street Condominiums, which has a parking garage can accomodate electric vehicle drivers.
Still, the proliferation of charging stations is bringing electric cars out of the homes of hobbyists and into the mainstream. During a demonstration of the charging stations in the , Tom Saxton of Sammamish, who owns a Tesla Roadster, explains why it makes a difference to have a number of charging stations in the community.
