Wrong-Way I-5 Chase In Seattle: Renton Man Arrested
A Renton man touched off a brief but harrowing chase Wednesday that started in Lynnwood and ended in Seattle.

EDMONDS, WA - A Renton man stole a taxicab at gunpoint in Lynnwood on Wednesday, touching off a brief but wild chase down I-5 involving multiple police agencies that ended when the suspect crashed near the Northgate Mall.
Around 1:45 p.m., police reported, the 38-year-old suspect took the cab from the parking lot of a Dollar Tree along Mukilteo Speedway. The suspect fired several shots before fleeing.
Snohomish County deputies located the driver and the cab along I-5 near 220th Street and began chasing him. The suspect fled at speeds in excess of 100 MPH, according to police.

Police broke off the pursuit when the suspect began driving south in the northbound lanes. Seattle police and the King County Sheriff's Office joined the pursuit. Police used a pursuit-intervention maneuver (PIT), causing the suspect to crash near the I-5 express lanes entrance near Northgate.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.

The incident was causing problems with the evening rush hour. The Seattle-to-Everett commute time was 103 minutes, according to WSDOT.
Responding to reports of a robbery with shots fired near 140th and Admiralty Way in Lynnwood. Searching for suspects who fled the scene in a yellow cab. More info to come.
