SnoCo IDs Man Killed In Structure Fire

Everett Fire officials continue to investigate the blaze at Harvey's Pub Sunday that left 58-year-old Stephen K. Andvik dead.

EVERETT, WA - One person was found dead following a structure fire in Everett Sunday that reportedly caused extensive damage to a two-story building that housed apartments and businesses along Broadway. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner on Tuesday identified the decedent as 58-year-old Stephen K. Andvik of Everett.

Andvik died from smoke inhalation, the medical examiner said in a tweet, noting also that Andvik's death appears accidental.

The fire reportedly began around 12:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at 3615 Broadway. When fire crews arrived they found the roof of the building fully engulfed, Everett Fire officials said.

Residents from the building's second-floor apartments were able to successfully evacuate after they were alerted by fire alarms, officials said. While firefighters attacked the blaze, however, they were reportedly told one more person may still be inside on the second floor.

Unsafe conditions prevented fire crews from quickly accessing the area where the lone resident was thought to be, officials said, noting they had to wait until the fire was beat back enough to allow them inside. Once inside, fire officials conducted a search and reportedly found Andvik dead.
