Fatal Crash In Lynnwood: Police Seek Witnesses
A man in his 20s is being held in jail while police continue to investigate a fatal crash in Lynnwood last weekend. Witnesses wanted.

LYNNWOOD, WA - One man is dead and another is in jail while Lynnwood police investigate a fatal car crash that occurred Sunday afternoon. Police have not yet identified either individual, but on Friday the department released additional details in the hopes more witnesses will come forward.
Officers were dispatched to the 19700-block of 76th Avenue West around 3:45 p.m. Jan. 13 after receiving reports of a serious crash in the area. When they arrived, officers learned the suspect who was thought to have caused the crash — a man in his 20s — was speeding north on 76th Avenue West in a newer, white Jaguar sedan when he struck another driver's vehicle.
The first collision reportedly sent the suspect's vehicle careening into a parked, unoccupied car. After the collisions the suspect driver fled the area on foot, police said.

The driver in the first vehicle that was hit reportedly sustained critical injuries, required extrication from his car, and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he later died.
Edmonds police quickly caught up to the suspect driver and arrested him without additional incident.

The arrested — and still unidentified — driver was taken to Snohomish County jail, where he is still being held for vehicular homicide, hit and run, and attempting to elude police.
Neither the suspect nor the driver who was killed had passengers with them when the crashes occurred, police said.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have additional information that could assist the investigation is encouraged to call Lynnwood police Sgt. Jason Valentine at 425-670-5642.
