Sexual Assault Reported On ECC Campus
A sexual assault involving 2 or more men reportedly occurred on a service road near the Edmonds Community College horticulture buildings.

EDMONDS, WA - An on-campus sexual assault was reported to Edmonds Community College Campus Safety and Security Wednesday afternoon, according to an alert released by ECC.
Two or more men in a "white passenger vehicle" abducted and raped an unidentified victim on a service road near the college's horticulture buildings between 9 and 10 a.m. Jan. 16, ECC officials said, noting the assault was reported by the victim.
The incident is being investigated by Lynnwood police and the college. Anyone who may have information that could assist police is encouraged to call campus security at 425-754-0154.

On-campus sexual assaults are reportedly rare at ECC, based on the campus' crime log, which does not include a single instance of sex assault or rape on campus in 2018.
The crime log, in fact, only lists three violent crimes: aggravated assault with a knife on March 31, 2018; domestic violence with kidnapping on Nov. 13; and simple assault on Dec. 31.

The majority of on-campus criminal incidents appear to involve harassment and stalking.
In response to Wednesday's sexual assault, both Lynnwood police and ECC's campus security will reportedly increase vehicle patrols and extend day and night patrols to include one extra security officer at all times. At least one ECC security officer has been present on campus at all times up to now, according to ECC spokeswoman Marisa Pierce.
