SnoCo Sheriff IDs Person Of Interest In 1990s Murder
Richard Nelson of Bonney Lake was identified Thursday as a person of interest in the 1990s murder of Mill Creek's Michael Powell.

BOTHELL, WA — Snohomish County Sheriff's detectives are searching for a Bonney Lake man in connection with a murder investigation. Richard "Rick" Nelson is reportedly a person of interest in the murder of Michael Powell.
Detectives say Powell was killed in the 1990s, but his body wasn't found until May 22, when his buried skeletal remains were located in the backyard of a home in the 19900-block of Eighth Avenue Southeast in Bothell.
Powell, of Mill Creek, had not been in contact with his family since the early 1990s. He was reportedly in his early 30s at the time of his death, which was ruled a homicide based on evidence.
