After I-5 Shooting, WSP Asks For Public's Help Finding Suspect

Washington State Patrol troopers are hoping someone saw a shooting on I-5 in Tacoma early Wednesday afternoon.

TACOMA, WA — The Washington State Patrol is asking for the public's help catching a driver who opened fire on another vehicle while on the freeway earlier this week.

According to WSP, the incident took place at around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, on I-5 near the interchange ramp to S 84th Street.

Around then, a green Chevrolet pick-up had been heading south, when it stopped in front of a four-door Mercedes passenger car. The driver of the Mercedes then stepped out of his car, and fired two or three shots at the Chevrolet, hitting it once in the rear window. The gunman then hopped back into the Mercedes and took off towards S 84th Street.

The driver, and his vehicle, have not been seen since. WSP troopers are hoping someone may be able to help track both down. Anyone who knows anything about this incident, is asked to call Det. Sgt. Clint Thomas at (253) 753-8226.
