Potential Espresso Stand Director Responds To Facebook User's Claims: 'Completely False'

Cary Gibson, director of Espresso Angels Inc., said the only thing that's true about the user's claims is that his company is considering purchasing the stand.

The director of a corporation that's considering purchasing the Black Star Espresso stand in the Oakbrook neighborhood says a Facebook user's claims that it would be turned into a bikini espresso stand are "completely false."

Cary Gibson, director of Espresso Angels Inc., told Patch that almost all of the claims made by Facebook user Maria Glaccio were not true. (Click here to read her post)

In her post, Glaccio claimed, among other things, that the stand was being purchased by a company that wanted to turn it into a bikini espresso stand, where customers could even pay a monthly fee to watch the baristas making the drinks.

Gibson said he found it "very disturbing that 'Maria Glaccio' has decided to post a completely false set of statements." Specifically, he laid out Espresso Angels' intentions and counter to the post:

  • The company only owns one lingerie stand as opposed to a standard “bikini” stand.
  • The employees of said stand wear corsets and classy lingerie, i.e., more than at the beach.
  • Only ONE Black Star Espresso Stand is for sale.
  • The company never had any plans to convert it to a lingerie stand. The company always planned to keep it as a clothed stand.
  • There are no web cams at our current stand, only security cameras and they are not piped to the web or the general public.  The same will be the situation at the Black Star stand should we purchase it.
  • There is no monthly fee as there is no web site.

"In short," Gibson tells Patch, "the only thing correct in Ms Giaccio's post is that the stand is up for sale and our company is considering purchasing it."
