According to the city, the last Community Cleanup in Spring was pretty painful, so they'll be strictly enforcing some new rules to get cars in and out as quickly as possible. Those rules are:
- Lakewood residents only – bring a bill or ID
- Time limit enforced – 5 min. to unload
- No box vans or vehicles 7’+ tall
- Residential waste only – no commercial
- Unsafely loaded vehicles may be cited
- Bring a mask and safe shoes
- Be ready to back up a steep ramp
- Be ready to unload your own trash
- Bag all loose items
The event will accept bagged items, rimless tires bicycles, furniture, couches, grills, appliances, and recyclables. It will not take loose items, paint, yard waste, construction waste, explosives, electronics or mattresses.

If you can't wait till April, you can also use the Tacoma Transfer Station, which recently opened to Lakewood residents. The transfer station had previously been restricted to residents of Tacoma, but now allows all Pierce County residents to drop off trash, yard waste, and recyclables.
