Lakewood Towne Center Developer Plans To Demolish, Redevelop Former Gottschalks Building
Retail Properties of America Inc. told the Lakewood City Council on Monday that unless a new tenant steps forward, the building will be torn down this summer and redeveloped, with the space ready for tenants in 2014.

The developer for Lakewood Towne Center plans to demolish the former Gottschalks building this summer and redevelop it, with the new space ready for new businesses in 2014.
Representatives from Retail Properties of America Inc., told the Lakewood City Council on Monday night that it's in discussions with potential tenants regarding the 45,000-square-foot space, located directly west of the Loews Theater and south of the space with Marshalls, Old Navy and .
The developer did say that if a tenant were to step forward before the former Gottschalks building is torn down, it would consider not demolishing it.
